Another two points squandered

A debut goal by James Collins was not enough to give Cardiff victory as they were held to a draw by Colchester at Ninian Park.

Collins reacted quickest to prod home a Leo Fortune-West header in the 33rd minute, but the Bluebirds failed to make their first-half supremacy count.

They lost their way in the second period and Colchester forced a draw with an 82nd-minute goal by Joe Dunne.

It was another Jekyll and Hyde performance by the Bluebirds and manager Alan Cork will have to quickly sort it out or their promotion dream will be gone.
